William David creates beautiful artwork showcasing dogs in outdoor locations through photographic skill and fine art retouching.

Hi, I'm Will, a dog photographer from East Sussex. I have spent most of my life with various animals and being able to work with them is a dream come true. I love being able to capture the beauty of people's furry friends and family members to create and cherish memories in the form of amazing artwork.

My desire to work outdoors and with animals came before I ever touched a camera but I did not know exactly what I wanted to do. This was until I had almost finished university, when I began to have a creative itch that I needed to scratch which led to the beginning of my photographic journey. I started photographing everything I could outside and in nature but found that the most rewarding thing was photographing my dog, and I wanted to photograph other people's dogs too. From there I spent several years learning and developing my skills and am now confident in my ability to produce incredible artwork that I can't help but be in love with.

What I Have Done

In the year I have been pursuing photography both professionally and competitively, I have achieved the following:

  • In 2024 I achieved my BTOG certification which is a Licentiateship level qualification.

    This means that the certifying body have viewed my work and have given me the stamp of approval that a client can be confident they have booked a professional photographer with good all-around skills.

  • Over the past year I have started to dabble in competitive photography and have been awarded Bronze Merits for serveral images that I submitted from both the Guild of Photographers and the BIPP.

    This level of merit represents a level of photographic skill that would be considered above general professional standard.

  • In 2024 I completed a challenge to photograph 10 different breeds of dogs in 10 weeks which has given me a lot of insight into working with dogs of varying temperaments, sizes and levels of training to create images that their owners loved.
